It’s just starting to warm up and feel like summer here in England! So just an important reminder to slap on lots of sun cream and not leave your dog fiends in the car, we get awfully sweaty and it can be dangerous.
Anyway, I wanted to go to the cinema this week because the Secret Life of Pets is out and I thought that would be right up my street!
I wasn’t allowed in to the cinemas near me, so I’ll wait for the DVD. But I wasn’t the only one who wants to watch it. In Tel Aviv, Israel, there is a roof top cinema where dogs can go with their fiends to watch films. This week they watched Secret Life of Pets. You can see the video here! It looks really fun.
Secret Life of Pets got me thinking of what you think we all get up to when you are out of the house, I know I do things Mum might be a bit surprised at – although she never leaves me for long. I can remember when I was a puppy and she said to all of her fiends that she would never let any dog of hers sit on her furniture or sleep on her bed. Hahaha! That didn’t last long!
Well fiends, only a little blog this week I’m afraid as I want to get out in the sun! But you can expect exciting things coming from me this week!
How are you this week? It’s been quite the week for me out and about with my fiends exploring. You may have seen some of my posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
I’ve been continuing to follow the tennis and support Andy Murray! Fingers crossed for him, you can see above I am hoping for a repeat of 2013.
The Tour de France also began last weekend and I have been cheering them on while admiring the beautiful French scenery, it has made me feel a little French in the head.
Mark Cavendish is currently in the Green Jersey, meaning he is the current leader in the points competition. Although we all know it is all about the yellow jersey!
I’ll take the yellow cap instead of the jersey! …
All this exercise reminds me of the endurance needed to compete! I have had lots of practise from my long walks across Devon.
I also do a bit of agility training and that takes lots of mental and physical endurance for us pups!
SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES
You may have seen this week it was National Kissing Day and my social media was covered with images of people sharing the love. Here are some of my favourites and of course my own, sharing the puppy love!
And here are some fiends celebrating Wimbledon. Just look at all those strawberries!
As it happens, Aukland in New Zealand have already thought about who would make the best ball boys and girls of all time. They had a little help from five time Wimbledon champion, Venus Williams…
I think the problem is I would get too distracted and want to join in with the game, so maybe it is best to leave it to the fabulous Ball Boys and Girls of Wimbledon!
My own videos are up on YouTube for you to watch now! Do show any younger fiends you might know who don’t know how to work computers. There will be a new one up later today, but for now you can watch last week’s. I went on a big day out! It was SUCH an adventure.
If you weren’t a dog, or couldn’t be for my human fiends out there, what animal would you be? Let me know on Facebook or Twitter.
It is hard to believe all of the amazing things he has seen and shared with us in his time up in space. Let’s have a look at some of his best images!
Above is a picture of Tim before he left Earth for space, he has said that he is going to put on lots of weight when he comes back because he lost so much while in orbit.
Below is an image of somewhere in England. Can you guess where?
If you look closely you can see a long winding snake. That isn’t actually a snake, it is the river Thames. This is a photo of London at night. Don’t we make an awful lot of light!
Here is Tim Peake taking a selfie before his first space walk. I don’t know if space walks are for me, I prefer the coast of Ilfracombe!
You might have seen Miss Mouse from CBeebies up in space with him too! He took three very special items with him when he left. A rugby ball and shirt to launch BBC six nations coverage, a tuxedo t-shirt to present Adele with her Brit Award, and Miss Mouse to teach children about space on Show Me Show Me.
DID YOU KNOW in the 1950’s and 60’s the USSR sent dogs into space to test if it was safe for humans to be able to go. I think Tim Peake has a lot to thank us for.
But after all his hard work it was announced that for his services to space research he has been awarded an Order of St Michael and St George in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. Congratulations Tim! I hope you have a lovely week on Earth.
Another of my videos is out today, so keep your eyes peeled on YouTube. Let me know what you’ve been up to this week and keep in touch with me on my Facebook page.
Hi fiends! Have you had a good week out in the sunshine? I hope you haven’t been working too hard.
I have been busy with an extra special challenge from the Wildlife Trusts who have a #30DaysWild challenge going on for the whole of June.
I am 12 days in as of today and have been having a fantastic time. I normally go on a walk once or twice a day anyway, but I have been paying lots more attention to all the wildlife and habitats around me. The Wildlife Trusts have also provided me with lots of fun facts and things to encourage me.
Did you know…?
There are more than 600 species of spider in Britain
Every adult hedgehog has around 7000spines covering its back and sides
Underneath their stripes, Zebras have black skin! So I guess that means they are black with white stripes.
Pandas spend as much as 16 hours a day eating
Tigers have striped skin as well as striped fur to keep themselves fully camouflaged
Starfish don’t have blood, seawater runs through them
Orangutans are ticklish!
Octopuses have nine brains! One in their centre and one in each leg.
But you probably won’t get the chance to see an octopus or a panda or any very very wild animals. You might get to see some insects or birds of prey! I see lots of exciting animals and their homes on my walks. I’ve even swum with fishes off the shore at Ilfracombe and taken a dip in the reservoir.
As you can see I haven’t spent much time inside recently, only to write this blog!
If you fancy giving the challenge a go, take a look here. You might have missed a few days but it doesn’t matter, as long as you give it a try!
Hi fiends! What a lovely week it’s been, I hope you made the most of the bank holiday last week too. Hasn’t June snuck up on us! But making the most of the light evenings is my most favourite thing about this time of year.
I went to Larkstone Family Fun Day and played ball with a few of my fiends over the bank holiday weekend which was great. I also had a very yummy ice cream, that was a bit cheeky.
This morning I was reading the news on my computer and I came across an interesting article about when dogs were domesticated (that means kept as pets). Of course we all know we are descendants of wolves because we look very similar. But the old DNA found in a stone age dog’s bones suggests that maybe us dogs were domesticated at different times across the world.
I couldn’t imagine not living where I do now and not having my own bed. What would it be like to sleep outside all the time? It can be very chilly in Ilfracombe in the winter so I imagine I wouldn’t like it very much. And if I didn’t live with Mummy Fiona who would throw the ball for me?!
Here is my video from last week, I was a bit hungry! I guess that just proves I wouldn’t be very good in the wild, having to fend for myself and things.
Shoes can be very smelly! It was almost as bad as the time I snuck a bit off cheese off of Mum’s plate. What is the most smelly thing you have ever smelt? Let me know on Facebook and I’ll mention it next week… I might even go and smell it myself to see if you’re right.
This week I need your help. I’m going to try my best at something very big and important and I hope you will lend a hand (or paw)!
Have you heard of Amazon? Well they’re having a competition to see which pet will represent them for Amazon Pets and I thought that would be something I would love to do. After all I have had a lot of practise in front of the camera!
You can vote for me by liking and sharing my photos that have the hashtag #AmazonPets on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I would really love it if you could help me in my mission to become a star.
This week I was really impressed by an extra special dog act on Britain’s Got Talent. I watched Trip and his Mum and I must say, they were very good indeed. They danced to Disney’s ‘Be Our Guest’ from Beauty and the Beast which I LOVED!
Did you see the trailer for the upcoming remake of Beauty and the Beast was also released this week? I love the talking furniture and can’t wait for it to be released!
Anyway, Trip Hazard (that is Trip’s stage name) didn’t get through at first but they were the Public Wild Card, so they still got to perform in the final! I was so happy for Trip; he is very talented. The final was last night and although they didn’t win, I can see big things in his future! I may have stiff competition. I have obviously already performed in front of the Queen at Sandringham though… at least I hope she saw me!
So, this week I will be taking lots of selfies for Amazon and enjoying the bank holiday weekend with Mum. I might even get to see some of my fiends for a tail wag and some BBQ food. Do you have any nice plans for the bank holiday?
What have you been up to this week? The weather has not been very nice in North Devon so I’ve been on a few very rainy walks. Some fiends in Ilfracombe even recognised me and came to say hello, which made me very happy.
I laughed and laughed on Friday when I saw the funniest video of a lady trying on a Chewbacca mask. Have you seen it? I think it really suits her and she is so happy… much happier than fancy dress made me when I dressed as an ewok.
At the time of writing her video had over 106 MILLION views. That is lots and lots! My videos don’t get quite that many yet, maybe I should take some tips from her.
I read an article on Belfast Live about the National Police Dog Trials which are coming up on Friday. Working dogs are so amazing! The article talks about how the canines make concise and clear decisions, which is true but I thought that was a bit obvious. I make decisions all the time! Like will I give Mum the ball back? Shall I meet Moja for a walk? Should I steal the last bit of pizza? Normally I make good decisions, but Police Dogs can’t ever make the wrong decision otherwise people can get hurt.
I was pleased they still get to chase bouncy balls after training though. They also live with their handlers so although these dogs might look a bit scarier than me, they are just as loving and well looked after.
My new video will be up on Sunday evening as usual, and you can catch up on any you’ve missed on my YouTube page. Last week’s video was about when I met my neighbours, what do you think I was talking about with Skip?
Anyway, enough from me. It’s briefly stopped raining so I’ll go for a run around in the fresh air before it starts up again.
I had the most amazing 3rd Birthday party last weekend! Mum and I made a cake that was extra special because it is okay for dogs. It was very yummy indeed!
I got to dance with all my fiends. I let Mum invite her fiends too because I wanted her to have a really great time too, but they couldn’t eat my cake. I felt very special and lucky to have such wonderful fiends. Have you made cakes and celebrated your pet’s birthday before? I loved licking the spoon, it’s the best bit isn’t it!?
I am so lucky, I got lots of presents too! Birthdays are GREAT! Mum had to give me a hand to open them though.
I loved the news that Prince George (the real one, not my fiend George Windsor) and Princess Charlotte have a pet! I think they should’ve got a dog personally, but a hamster is fun too, although they can’t play fetch which is a shame. Maybe when they get older they will have a pet dog too.
Anyway fiends, I have to go now, but I will let you know what I’m up to next week. In the mean time keep your eyes peeled for my YouTube videos. Grandmas are great, what’s the best thing about your Grandma?
Mum always says time goes faster as you get older, and doesn’t it just, now that I am 3 years old it’s just flying by.
We were travelling again in the week and stayed with my Uncle David and Auntie Virgie in Chapmanslade, we met up with Auntie Carolyn and my cousin Henry, who I just met, I didn’t even know he was my cousin!! and we had a lovely time in a place called Mells. Henry is such good fun.
Then we went to see our good fiends Auntie Jules and cousin Rufus and stayed in Arundel by the castle and we had some lovely walks, they know how to treat dogs in Arundel.
I think Mum would have liked to stay in the castle but we weren’t invited. Mum says that in olden days if you were ‘invited’ to stay in the castle it wasn’t necessarily a good thing but I didn’t understand, which goes for so much of what she says. Anyway I was very, very happy to stay at the Swan Hotel where they love dogs and I had lots of biscuits and sausages for breakfast and they all like cuddles.
Apparently some experts think dogs don’t like hugs I think this is rubbish, I mean it worked out ok for these 2! And works for us 2.
We met with Auntie Alexa and she sang me a beautiful song for my birthday which was on Thursday.
I’m so happy because I’m having my Birthday party on Sunday with all my fiends so I can show you what happened next week, should be fun!
Until then here is my most recent YouTube video, what do you think my cat fiend is called?
