Moore… Sir Roger Moore!

Hi fiends,

We’ve been pretty busy so, had a little break from the blog but , we’re back now.

Fiends have been to stay, visits to people, pals for sleepovers while their mums went away and we’ve been up to London were we visited our favourite restaurant again –  it’s called Joe Allen. It’s brilliant, very dog friendly and they do the most fantastic sausages ever, yes ever!tot.jpg

And it was my birthday!!! We had a great party with our fiends at the Carlton Hotel just up the road from home. Lots of the small fiends wore fancy dress and looked brilliant!

I am now four years old…. which sounds a lot more grown-up than three!

Talking of age; who’s old enough to remember the actor Sir Roger Moore in The Saint and the James Bond films? Sadly, he passed away last week as, he’d been ill. He was 89.

tumblr_mzi6z3PY5U1rf1jvro1_1280.jpg

We loved him in Ivanhoe, as The Saint and as James Bond – some folk say he was the best 007 as, he added a little touch of humour to the films and he was very suave. I’m not totally sure what ‘suave’ is but, he was it ….. according to the mums!!

Ragamuffin(3)

We saw Sound Stage 7 – where he used to film The Saint at Elstree Film Studios – there was definitely a scent of suave in the air!

As_The_Saint,_Roger_Moore_was_already_a_popular_tv_actor_before_being_cast_as_007_2017_05_25_22_27_17.png

People say he came from humble beginnings… we think he would say he came from a normal family. He once said: “My father believed in toughness, honesty, politeness and being on time. All very important lessons.” We agree!!

Sir Roger was very modest and not at all showy offy – when he was asked about his acting style he was very honest and said he worked to; “You just have to look at the lines, say them, and don’t bump into the furniture.” Which, in my humble acting experience is very true, though in my case; it’s ‘don’t jump onto the furniture’!!

He also did lots of good and kind things outside of acting including; being a voice for animals – he was very against fox, and all animal, hunting and said very tough words about those who went hunting, regardless of who they are.

He was very keen that all children in the world, whatever their background, could have a good chance in life and he thought we should: “Teach love, generosity, good manners and some of that will drift from the classroom to the home and who knows, the children will be educating the parents. Let’s face it, the children who do that are the hope of tomorrow.”

And because of his care and interest for children’s futures he got involved with The United Nations Children’s Fund – known as UNICEF. You can see his activities and more about UNICEF here.

china2

He was very ‘hands on’. The mums say that some famous people have their name connected to good works but, don’t always really help out except; ‘on paper’ or perhaps in the papers!!

Rogernkidst_no-border-768x527

Roger Moore wasn’t interested in anything on paper, he wanted to see for himself what it was all about and visited UNICEF projects that help children all over the world including: China, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Honduras and Guatemala and he went out and got support and donations to make sure there are more projects.

For all his fantastic work with UNICEF he was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in January 1999, which is just about the best you can get apart from being King…..though, I’m not certain Prince Charles would have been too happy about that! So, the Queen made him a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) in June 2003.

And he really was a saint!!

Until next time

Bouncy balls and Record Breakers

Hello fiends!

This week I have been enjoying some time off with Mummy Fiona in Ilfracombe. I had another look through my photo albums in my free time and looking at how cute I was when I was little! I have always loved to play catch and fetch with my ball, but it took me a while to get the hang of it as you can see

ball

Now I can chase the ball even when it goes really far… but I need a little help from my fiends.

ed

I also used to find swimming really hard, because the water can be chilly and it makes my fur very wet.

Ragamuffin 1

But now I am almost as good as a fish at swimming, I guess practise makes perfect! Ilfracombe is a great place to live because it is right by the sea.

This week in the news I saw that a sheep dog called Cap sold for lots and lots of money at auction! A new record of £14,805! It was because he was so well bred, I think his dad might have been a champion sheep dog. He is going to be a working dog on a farm. I haven’t asked Mummy Fiona, but I think to her I am worth even more… even though I can’t herd sheep. I can pretend to be Indiana Jones and that is almost better.

If you want to know more about Cap, have a look at this article from the BBC! He is almost as famous as me.

My new video will be up soon. Have you seen the one from last week? What is your most favourite toy? Let me know in the comments or on Facebook.

Until next week fiends!

The Red Carpet Continued…

Hi Fiends

My last blog was delayed and a bit short as I was having some real technical difficulties and haven’t been at all well the past week. I even had to go and see the vet! Anyway I was a bit upset my last post didn’t turn out perfectly, so I thought I would deliver you the juicy gossip from the red carpet again, now that I feel better and without the technological blips! Here we go… !

Well what can I say, I had a fantastic week at my film launch at Elstree two weeks ago. It was amazing and so many of my lovely fiends came. Mum, Auntie Pip and I got to the studios at 9.00am to help prepare. I was rather nervous, what with it being only my second public appearance and to think of all those famous stars who went before me.

Some stars who have been at Elstree Studios before me:ewok-2indiana-bones-2superdog-1

It took Mum quite some time to get me ready. I thought I looked fine as I was, but you know Mothers, one tiny hair out of place and they go straight for the hairbrush.  I was very flattered to have my own dressing room, I let Mum share it and also George Olney who was our interviewer. Mum made him change his clothes but he didn’t mind as he was in good company.

When it was time to go everybody was there waiting just for me to arrive. George interviewed some of my special guests and fiends like Buster. Here are a couple:

Well, I got to walk up the red carpet and Mum said whatever happens don’t pee on it, as if I would, honestly Mum you can be so embarrassing.

Wow! When we went in everybody clapped and cheered and said my name and I said hi to some of my fiends, but I was really nervous and overwhelmed so I couldn’t deliver my speech that I worked so hard on! Mum did it for me and said it didn’t matter, lots of famous people get stage fright.  The important thing is to try.

I’ll show you what Daniel Roche had to say next week and tell you what I’ve been getting up to. Be sure to check out my YouTube page in the meantime, it has a few of my episodes on already!

Thanks fiends, till next time!

Indiana Bones, Bark Vader and a Doggywok

Hi Fiends

I’ve been showing my countdown pictures this week and last Sunday it was 8 spring lambs but I’m ashamed to say I lost one and that is very bad if you are a sheep dog, however we did eventually find her hidden amongst the sausages and managed to bring her back into the fold.

Yesterday my count down picture was of Mum and me in The Saint’s car, what Mum doesn’t realise is that I really am a Saint.

2 days to go

P1070618

I’m exhausted as we spent 3 days with Stu at Maniac films and you’ll never guess what she had me doing! She only decided it would be fun to dress me up as characters who appear in the films they make at Elstree Studios, really she gets worse and worse. I was not impressed!

I didn’t get on very well with R2D2 I’m afraid.

Although I was pleased when I saw the final images and Mum did produce lots of liver treats.

We’ll be tweeting and instagramming, live from my launch on Monday 4th April so please have a look, and check Facebook too… I’ll have lots to tell you next week.

Bye fiends,  till next time!

Chicks, Rabbits and Easter Fun!

Hi Fiends!

I’m working very hard towards my film launch at Elstree and Mum is helping too, we have lots of things to do to get ready.  I thought this week I’d share with you some of the behind the scenes photos of the countdown pictures.

15 days to go was rashers of bacon – well that was one of my favourites.  I pretended not to understand what I must do so Mum had to ask Stu to take the shot lots of times so I got lots of bacon.  I had employed this technique on both the sausage and biscuit shots and found it to be most successful.

DSC01064

To be honest after all that bacon, sausages and biscuits the thought of eating 11 bones was just a little daunting!!

DSC00987

11 days to go

By the time we got onto 10 rabbits I’d no idea what Mum wanted me to do, so I came up with the idea about fat Peter rabbit who got all the radishes.

Then it was time for the chicks, well they wind up and try and come towards you all at once and it’s a bit unnerving so I thought I’d give them a little scare, but they kept a coming.Mum and Stu thought this video was really funny, me not so much.

There is a new trailer this Sunday, then on the 3rd of April my first films comes out and on the 4th its my launch at Elstree with lots of people and dogs. All exciting stuff, I hope you keep an eye out!

Bye fiends, till next time!

The Countdown has Begun…

Hi Fiends…A very busy week!

I went to see my fiend Stu again at Maniac Films and we had to do a photoshoot inside the studio and outside as my Auntie Xenia had this great idea that we should do a count down to my launch at Elstree.

I like Auntie Xenia as everything I do with her involves food.  She was the one that took the photos of me eating sausages at Joe Allen’s! Anyway we started off very well because it involved wrapping me up in 20 sausages which I have to say is one of my favourite ways to start the day.

20-days-bts-small20 days-3

I had to show great restraint mind you, as I wasn’t allowed to eat them till we had taken the photo although honestly, I did nibble a little one in front of my nose when they weren’t looking.  The business cards shoot wasn’t so much fun as I couldn’t play with the ball but I did manage to get a text off to Moja and Buster, who were very jealous.

18 days final-v3

All I can say is it was a good job Buster wasn’t there as he would have run out the door with the string of sausages trailing behind him.  We then moved on to biscuits, dog toys and bacon, well I could get used to this. Auntie Xenia please keep coming up with ideas, I have kept you a sausage as a thank you, although it’s a bit muddy now.

17 days-final

16 days-final

I did manage to get a break from the shoot for lunch where I met with my fiend and we played the fruit machine, but did not win anything.

Fruit machine

We went outside and I had to sit at the bottom of a cliff and Mum threw 19 balls off the top and I had to try and catch them which was brilliant fun.  We had to do it lots of times and I had to run back up the cliff with them so Mum could throw them off again and again as she wasn’t very good at it.   I can’t understand it, it’s not as though I don’t give her plenty of practice.

19 days-resize2

I will tell you about the rest of the shoot next week as some very funny things happened. Now we are getting ready to go off to London again as we have some meetings at Elstree next week.

Goodbye Fiends and please keep watching! Let me know what you think on Facebook!

Rolls Royce, Roche and Recording Studios

Hi Fiends…another amazing week, I really am a lucky dog.

On Saturday we went to see Thomas and Isobel, my Mum is their Godmother and I am their Dogfather which means we have to help look after them, but they do have very good parents.  They are very nice and we play together.  It was their Grandfather’s birthday so we had a party.

I had lots of lovely walks and there was a deer who followed me, I think he wanted to play ball but didn’t know how. Then we went to a place that had lots of geese and when I went to get the ball they all squawked together and went to fly in the air, I got a bit of a shock but I’m glad I’m so masterful.

On Monday and Tuesday we had very, very exciting days because Mum and I are making some films about my adventures from when I was born and they will be shown on YouTube.  Daniel Roche who is very famous and was in Outnumbered, is my voice because humans don’t understand everything I say, so Daniel is speaking for me. Daniel and I have looked at what I wanted to say and then he did the speaking for me, he is very good and is nice and has lots of dogs of his own, so I think he understands us.

We did the recording at Elstree which is a very famous film studios so I was very impressed and they recorded Star Wars there!  One day maybe I will be famous too.

George Lucas Stage

I also had to help with the recording, which I enjoyed.

R sound mixing

We went out in London with Roz who is Buster’s Mum and walked across Waterloo Bridge and went to Joe Allen’s again for dinner, I like it there very much and they gave me a sausage.

Version 2

Although I had a great time, it is always nice to get home and see my fiends, and good to see that Buster is still up to his old tricks!!!

Until next time fiends
